Merlin

Merlin began the entire sanctuary. He is a warmblood, a Thoroughbred-Clysdale Cross. He sustained a suspensory ligament injury at age 18 and his owner refused to treat him or sell him. However, she agreed to release him to the sanctuary with agreement the would retire from riding. Merlin is now 24 years old and shows only minor symptoms of his injury from years back. He is the center of attention in both the heard and everyone who visits the sanctuary.

Calypso & Chardonnay

Calypso and Chardonnay are two of our four mini residents here at the sanctuary. The are half brothers, sharing the same father, therefore 6 months apart with Calypso being the oldest at 13 and Chardonnay 12 right now. Calypso is a ladies man and will flirt with every human visitor he meets. Chardonnay is our shy little mini, except when it comes to his brother, then he is in charge.

Calypso (dark brown mane) is trained to pull carts and loves people more than his fellow horses. He has been involved with Make-A-Wish, school group visits, scout troup, and nursing homes.

Thor

Thor is an Icelandic horse. He was born in Iceland but was tranported over here almost 20 years ago by his previous owner. He resides at the sanctuary with his "wife" and daughter, who are both pure Icelandics as well.  Thor is 25 years old and despite being gelded in his teens, he is one of the gentalest horses you will ever meet. He loves to be brushed by visitors due to his three layercoat (differng from the normal two layer horse coat).

Branda and Hera

Branda and Hera are mother and daughter Icelandic horses. They were surrendered during the recession in 2014 from a lady who had over 30 horses. Her only condition was that Hera and her mother would nver be seperated. Branda is 18 years old with Hera being 11. They are both extremely docile and love interacting with people.

Majestic Pegasus

Majestic Pegasus and Cocomo were found wondering in a housing development during the time of the recession. The sheriffs office contacted us as many rescues are not equiped to house miniturehorses, especially one as small as coco.

Diamond

Diamond, whose full name is Fine as Diamonds, was rescued during the Recession when hundreds of horses in Florida were abandoned. When she first came to the rescue she was skittish, untrusting of people, and was only trout broken. Through years of work Dee has become the lead mare of the heard. She is one of the most respectful horses you will meet and one of the most curious. Dee wishes to be the center of attention, where ever people are, she expects to be right in the middle of it.

Diamond is an American paint horse with striking blue eyes. While folk lore says that blue eyed horses are 'crazy' we have found they are simply extremely attentive, intelligent, and thoughtful.

Cocomo

Cocomo is our smallest mini here at the sanctuary. He is considered a class A mini. Cocomo gets his name from his rich dark brown coat. He is our only horse that is one solid color.

Cocomo his a true buddy horse and will follow you where ever you go. He loves attention, which is why we take him to nursing homes, schools, and Make-A-Wish.

We later found out that Cocomo was a little under two years only when he was found as he grew a little taller and lost his baby teeth while with us.

Carastyn

Carastyn is a Welsh Cobb, therefore, she is not as large as most horses, but only slightly larger than ponies.

Carastyn is the only horse at the sactuary that is not a rescue. She has the biggest attitude but will take care of anyone who rides her. Carastyn helps out with fundraisers and has been used for wedding shots due to her fully white coat and platinum-blonde mane.
